DR. ALLAN VALGEMAE, M.D., is a board-certified Psychiatrist. He holds a Medical Degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston. He also graduated from Robbinsdale High School in the Twin Cities and from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. After completing his psychiatry residency at Harvard's Cambridge Hospital, Allan worked in Washington, D.C. for eight years providing talking and medication therapies, specializing in the GLBT community. Since returning to Minnesota with his partner of over 20 years, Allan has spent the past decade working mostly with seriously ill individuals in hospital settings; and from 2004 to 2006, Allan specialized in working with hospitalized children ages six to seventeen years. He now returns to providing therapy and medication consultations to individuals of all ages at our Blaine office.
