Billing & Insurance

Information
Insurance - We participate with many HMO's, PPO's and Care Systems, and we will do everything we can to help you get the most from your medical insurance. Our scheduling coordinator will collect your insurance information and pre-register you. Please bring your insurance cards to your first appointment.

Payment
Co-payment  - Co-payments must be made at the time of service. If your coverage requires a co-payment please bring a means of payment (cash, check, credit card or HSA card) to your appointment.

Co-insurance or deductibles – Co-insurance or deductible amounts are due immediately after your insurance processes and you receive the explanation of benefits (EOB) from your insurance carrier.  You may pay your “Patient Responsibility” at your next scheduled appointment, by sending a check in the mail, or by making a secure online payment on our website.

Self pay & out of network insurance – all self pay or out of network insurance payments are due at the time of service.  We can provide you with an itemized receipt for submission to a health savings account, by request.

Billing

The medical industry is different from most because we do not bill our customers directly.  We contract with insurance companies, who pay us a pre-determined amount for certain services.  Insurance companies also have contracts with the policy holder, which describes the payment responsibility for the patient.  We cannot alter the contract between a client and an insurance company.  In fact, we do not know what the specifics are between a client as the policy holder and the insurance company.  Each contract is different, even with the same insurance company.  For example, one major insurance company may have policies with different companies and with individual plans that are different from other policies carried by that same major insurance company, even if they are both PPO or HMOs.  There are hundreds of various insurance policies and each covers different services at various levels.  Ultimately, we cannot know what is covered, what is considered not covered at all, or what is considered patient responsibility until we receive the EOB for services from the company. 

Claims filing
Our Administrative Office will file a claim with your insurance carrier. We will work with you to obtain the benefits you deserve; but, remember, you are accountable for the “patient responsibility” portion of our charges.
