~ Scientific Info on Homosexuality

The more we learn about infant brain development, parental stress, & genetics, the better understanding we will have about homosexuality as a human condition, not as a choice or a sin.

~ Schick-Shadel Hospital - an effective chemical dependency treatment center

This chemical dependency treatment center uses a very unique approach that targets the areas of the brain impacted by what we often refer to as "addiction".  Just wanting to change is not enough for someone to develop a new relationship with drugs or alcohol.  Wanting to change uses the frontal cortex of our brains while the reward center, or limbic system, of our brains is what controls addictive behavior.  Any treatment that relies on working with our frontal lobe will not produce long-lasting effects.  Treatment must specifically target the limbic system to be effective.
